Get your marshmallows and whipped cream ready! National Hot Chocolate Day falls on Friday January 31 2020 and we have some local suggestions on where to celebrate this important day. Read on for our picks.
Ben & Jerrys, Englewood - No powdered mix here. All hot chocolate starts with their homemade hot fudge as a base. If you prefer the hot chocolate to come to you, check out the hot chocolate bar catering options. Options include flavored syrups, whipped cream, sprinkles, marshmallows and crushed peppermints.
Java Day Café, Ridgefield Park – Stop by for one of their many breakfast sandwiches or pick up lunch here along with a cup of their hot chocolate.
Patisserie Florentine, Englewood – Their rich hot chocolate is delicious, and their cold version is my son’s favorite.
Mavi’s coffee and Patisserie, Fort Lee – Try the lightly sweetened hot dark chocolate.
Bischoff’s, Teaneck – Grab a seat at the counter at this classic location to try a warm mug of their seasonal hot chocolate.
Brownstone Pancake Factory, Englewood Cliffs and Edgewater – Nestle’s chocolate steamed with whole mile and topped with fresh whipped cream, chocolate sauce and a dusting of cocoa powder.
IHOP, Englewood and Teaneck – Try their original hot chocolate or seasonal special, the French Toast hot chocolate.
Kilwin’s – Stop in for all things chocolate and try their classic hot chocolate or indulge in a cup of their rich drinking chocolate.
Prefer to stay in? Jazz up your favorite homemade hot chocolate by adding a scoop of ice cream. We recommend mint chocolate chip. Or if you have a little more time, make your own whipped cream and marshmallows and get fancy with toppings like crushed candy bars (toffee bars work well) or chocolate syrup. Drink up, stay warm and be sure to keep some extra supplies on hand for your next snow day!
